I literally can't believe what I'm seeing, Jess. I've been wanting to write a poem with this exact same title, but I was unsure of how to approach it. It's as if you swiped my idea right out of my brain and brought it to life. This drawing is truly perfect, as is the occasion to create what I've wanted all along! Here I go!

In my deteriorating state, I sense your sorrow, your regret, and your suffocating pain. There is no way for you to rescue me, but I plead for you to stay.
I wish it did not have to end this way, but sadly, it is too late. There is not much else for me to say.
My melancholy heart aches not for me, solely for you. Your tail is drooped, you appear so blue, and your beady tears sparkle like dew.
This is my ultimate fate, to melt away into a pool of wax and feathers. This is my glorious, somber swan song, the beginning of my forever.
Perhaps, in the future, you shall silently liquefy too. It shall be another sign that your devotion to me was always true.
When that day arrives, together we shall spend eternity. My deepest desire is to feel your warm, gooey love as you flow passionately into me.
Our rich colors will swirl and blend, as will our shapeless souls. We shall live on and thrive, my love, two halves at last made perfect and whole.
