When you gaze upon me, curious visitor, who and what do you see? A solemn being with a razor-sharp gaze and even sharper beak? If we are matched in intellect, you would certainly be correct.
I often wonder about my place in this world, where beneath a fractured sun fields of crystalline flowers do unfurl.
I have managed to find another who seeks to unravel life's greatest mysteries. She is my majestic lover, and in search of an explanation, quite far and wide we have traveled.
We are easily broken, and for some reason hard to mend. Perhaps that is why our fragile tears sometimes never cease to end.
Our youthful, jagged hearts beat as one, and that may explain why we have not simply come undone.
In this noble mission we are inexorably tied, hopeful that we will uncover the truth. Then and only then will our shimmering souls be soothed.
You might say we are being too critical when we should instead be proud of our kind. For what it's worth, and for better or for worse, you are probably right.
In the future our outlooks may change, as we may then possess more open minds.
Perhaps then my dearest and I shall learn to treasure our stained glass spines.
